They knew how to do it in those days!

They sure knew how to do everything with elegance and style in the old days! This Peignoir and robe is from the late 30's, early 40's and is made with Skinner Satin. I just love the lace at the waist and sleeves. Oh, if they could see me today with my tshirt and shorts, or, when I'm dressed up for bed, my flannel pj's!

So stunning... and satiny! You're correct, though; nothing beats a pair of fluffy, cozy flannels!

Or a t-shirt and boxers!
Thanks for your comment about finding your sister....that is so amazing I'm sure you are still not 'over' it! Wonder how your mom would react, etc...she probably would be right in there with you two, giggling and eyeballing her daughter. I did photos for a mother/daughter reunion such as that. It was the most goose-pimply day!

WOW!!! Totally Stunning!!!
And I like the name of that fabric....wonder if they have skinner (I'm thinking make me look skinny) fabric around anymore.
JUST DELICIOUS!!! Thanks for sharing,
Amy (Mom to the Four Sisters)

Oh, my - that is the epitome of 'slipping into something more comfortable'. I can just imagine floating around in that drinking a cocktail.

I love the dressing gowns. I have thought too that it would be nice to dress a more like that for bed. When I watch the "Thin Man" or other movies from the time, the women are so chic and sophisticated. I'd like to do a little more of that. Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos:o)
