Not a good week!

I've not been on much, things are really not running smoothly here. First, I am in the vintage kitchen swap....I bought something off ebay cause I wanted to make something wonderful for my swap partner....it is STILL not here! Unbelievable! Now she says oh you should have it tomorrow...sheesh....I will be a sewing fiend if it shows up...if not, I think I have to send the other gifts without it, and let it catch up later. And speaking of ebay...we have a secret sister exchange on Make Mine Pink...I bought one of those gifts from ebay too...it FINALLY arrived...its been 3 weeks! Now that is late too! What is going on lately? This never happened to me with ebay purchases...
Then, my 21 year old son called, he broke his leg playing basketball. He is the daredevil whose car got hit by a semi 2 years ago, 4 weeks later he was snowboarding on Mount Charleston in Vegas when we lived there....guess what...an Avalanche...he was on the chair lift at the time and the 11 year old 2 chairs in front of him was swept off, buried, and not found for 9 hrs...did not survive....it was sooo sad!
Now he goes and breaks his leg....I thought the worries were supposed to get easier as they got older?????
Then, I was sewing along on a new line I am working on, and the sewing machine died on me! Ugh...I have a backup machine, but still...I want another just to feel safe! I want an older, steel machine, not another cheap plastic one
Soooo......I found this today at an estate sale for 20.00!

Its a Necchi Model 544 from Italy, and oldie but goodie...its a workhorse that sews leather, denim, lots of thick fabrics, with all extra stitches...This machine is solid! Love it and it works like a dream, plus came with the hard plastic carrying case and all the extra feet and misc doodads! Love the retro Euro style, too! So, at least the week wasn't a total bummer!

Hopefully can post my projects in a few days if the fabric ever shows up!

Yikes, sorry to hear about the kiddo and the leg (and the sewing machine too!).

I'm sorry that you're having such a bad week...but that machine is a find! I love the style, and that it's such a good machine, too. I hope that your eBay item arrives tomorrow, and that your week begins to look up from here!

I wish you the best, and hope that this week will be a 180 degree change for you. Hope your son will be on the mend very soon.

My best to you.

Oh my gosh, your life sounds like mine. I ordered something 3 weeks ago and it's still has not arrived. My sewing machine broke last weekend too. And, your son sounds like my 14 year old daughter. She's broken her arm twice. I had to call 911 three times for her before she was 3 years old. Funny how some kids are just like that!
